No More Bread: How Indian Grocery Stores Saved My Parents' Visit

Traveling abroad as an Indian often means our bags are bursting with spices and groceries (okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration!). When my parents came to visit us, they were genuinely worried that they might be stuck eating nothing but bread for the next six months. Thankfully, the abundance of Indian grocery stores in our town alleviated that concern.

Despite the fact that all four bags they brought were filled with more groceries than clothes, it still wasn’t enough to last a full six months. However, the local shops we discovered made a world of difference, leading my parents to declare that on their next visit, they won’t need to lug all those groceries from India after all.

Here’s a list of shops that can help you stock up, just like they did for us.

One of my experiences with Ruposhi Bangla stands out: while they may not have everything on your list, their prices are definitely more affordable.
